Welcome to the website for the 148th Bristol (1st Stockwood) Scout Group, which is based in Stockwood in south east Bristol. We are open to boys and girls between the ages of 6 years and 14 years, so that they can experience theadventure that is Scouting.
The Scout group runs five sections as follows:
• two Beaver Colonies for boys and girls aged 6 to 8 years
• two Cub Packs for boys and girls aged 8 to 10 ½ years
• a Scout Troop for boys and girls aged 10 ½ to 14 years.
This year is the 60th Birthday of the Scout Group as it was first registered in February 1959. It began life in the hall of the Sturminster Road Community Association, moving later to another rented hall in Tibbott Walk called ‘The Erie’. It had its own HQ built in 1982 on land leased from Avon County Council (succeeded by Bristol City Council). The HQ was built by Leaders, Committee members, Parents and Venture scouts and took over a year to build.
The website is currently undergoing re-construction, so please keep checking back for the latest updates.
